s2000
so around albany ny there are alot of those hot shot a-hole kids with hondas, acuras, sti's, evo's, and alot of M3s. tonite i was cruising going to the market and a s2000pulled up next to me. i ask him if its turbo he yells out "yea 290hp" he asks me what i have and i yell over "twin turbo 380hp" he looks like he doesnt think its true, i hear him downshift and i knew it was coming so i drop down into 3rd (and of course you all know w/ our z32's 3rd is deadly) i take off and watch him get smaller and smaller in my mirrors until i let up at about 110. it took him almost a block to catch up and when he did his mouth was still wide open, i gave him a thumbs up and he turned off the highway....i like kids like that who are cool about losing, anyways this was my first "race" sense i bought my z last month. its cool how Z's kind of demand respect.
i cant wait to run into one of the kids w/ the old wrx or a sti |

Yesterday I pushed my Z around the block faster than the old woman on a bike.

Light modded STi's and EVO's can be a handful, ESPECIALLY between 20 and 80mph. I've diced with them around town (um, I mean low speed portions of the track :-) and they're a bitch to get a bead on from down low because they hook up so well. Once we get to use 3rd gear though...sayonara! At least for them to get a holeshot on you they need to do an expensive clutch dump, whereas we have 3.0L of torque down low. "Nice race, is that your clutch I smell?" Oh yeah, nice kill by the way :-)

Dude , I find that a bit hard to believe since I was leasing a 00' S2000 back in 02' and it was 230 stock , I don't think the turbo kits made for the s2k's were only offering 60 hp , more like 90ish. Besides , a stock S2000 smokes most turbo cars on the market , Gives the wrx a hell of a run for it's money and it tops at 178 stock..

And as for a 50hp bump up for a s2000, that's pathetic. You can get more in from the superchargers they have out for them(which I hear suck). I hear all of the time that the best mod for those cars are gears. They are not straight line cars, but it seems like going from a dump, they can get a good jump on a Z. |

i suggest watching a 300zxTT race an STI or EVO before saying that you havent seen it beat one from a roll. it seems to me that you may be in here just stir up a little chaos rather than learn or advance your knowledge...if this is the case, i wil happily direct you back to the Honda forums.

the 300zx gets no credit though people dont understand they are still comparing a 15+ yeah old car with a brand new EVO or STI. if your gonna do some fair comparing...lets compare a 1990 EVO or STI with a 1990 300zxTT. people just need to keep their mouths or in this case, typing, silent until they think about what they are saying and what they are talking about. they need to learn about a car before typing good or bad about it....

just raced a new rx8 from stop light ( the guy had no chance but it was still fun, nice guy too!) and i have come to the conclusion that for a 15 year old car that can beat a majority of the new cars out there today the 300zx has to be one of the best cars ever built.....for the power it puts out, and the potenial to put out, along with the price, yea you can get about the same power from a VR4 or a supra but there going to cost you alot more then a 300zx and theres the kickass heritage of the Z...sorry about the rant but i really schooled that rx8 no problem..

Re: s2000
those new rx-8's are nothing special at the moment.. the new improved "renesis" engine isn't exactly a slouch (200 hp or something), but it's quite lacking without some form of forced induction imo. once the new rx-7's come out and if they ever turbocharge the rx-8, then you'll see some impressive numbers without a doubt.

Re: s2000
Wait until the RX-7 is revived =D that will something special. The RX-8 is just a temporary impressing car for todays kids and elderly folks.
