Smile So, exactly how bad are Cobalts?

Hello everyone! I just wanted to start out by saying I'm super grateful that this site exists. I'm twenty years old and pretty much on my own as far as choosing a new car is concerned. I'm currently driving a 2000 Mirage, which I love, but I really want to upgrade while staying within a reasonable cash price (6k or less preferably).

I've been seeing mixed reviews for Chevy Cobalts, and I really just wanted a general lowdown of what I should probably expect if I purchase one. Alternatively, if you all could suggest some other 4 cylinder cars that would be a better alternative, I'd be even more grateful. Thank you in advance!
