Intrigue Motor swap 3.5 for 3.8?

Can it be done? Some intrigue models came with the 3.8. The car is nice and I want to bring it back to life but have mixed feelings about fixing or swapping the 3.5.

Re: Intrigue Motor swap 3.5 for 3.8?

I don't have any personal experience to draw from but I'd say it could be done as both engines were available in the Intrigue at different times . The key would be making sure that all accompanying pieces ( computer , wiring loom , etc. ) for the new engine be used in place of the original pieces .The real key here is in the details making sure nothing is overlooked as you install the engine . Correct wiring hookups ( with no damage to connectors ) and no vacuum lines left loose , routed to the wrong connection , or unconnected . These engines have very complicated systems and if even one connection is wrong , well ...it may not run or it may blow up ! It can be done if you take your time and are very diligent in your actions . Good luck !
