can you make custom RC decals for a polycarbonate body?

was wondering if ppl make custom RC decals for a polycarbonate body, obviously a wet/slide decal would be no good, I am talking about trying to replicate the thin plastic type decals that SLIXX make or tamiya makes from the factory. I am wanting to do it myself b/c I am sure the decals dont exist. I am wanting to make a 1/10th scale BMW M3 with the B&H livery from the early 90s

any help would be appreciated

Yes you can make them but unfortunately I have no idea how. Try joining other RC forum websites and I can almost guarantee you will find answers. I dont mean to be rude to this website but its RC forum section is next to dead. You can try rcdriftclub.com. I know for a fact that several of those guys make decal stickers of the drift teams they create for themselves and the other members of their teams. I dont have a printer so I've never been curious to ask or research how they made the stickers but i'm certain you'll find answers there. Good luck.

Yes u can make it. It depends where u live that have company to make the real car decals, just reverse & reduce the size of the decals & stick inside of the body than spray. But only problem is in one color, if what u plan to do is more than one color u have to do some masking. If u constantly making many decals u can buy a cutting machine for Home PC, "Roland" (is the brand), but where to buy sorry i am not sure, i have saw before. Or u can print in transparent sticker using in computer wiht inkjet printer, but only problem is u can not print wiht color.

Hey,

Not sure if you're still looking for custom r/c decals but I've been doing them for several years now.

Here's a link:

http://www.rctagz.com

I'd be happy to answer any inquiries you may have.

Mick
