Manual car alarm shutoff

Forgot my keyless entry yesterday, alarm went off. Tried locking, unlocking door from inside, turning ignition key... nothing worked. Finally, unplugged wire to alarm horn and disconnected the battery to reset. Any help in what the manual way to turn off the alarm would be appreciated. Also, will disconnecting the battery to reset cause problems with security settings? Thanks all.

i just put the key in the driver door and unlock it in my 93 j30 and it works fine......my door relay is broken so the alarm arms itself all the time, so ive gotten used to it, but unlocking from the outside works

yea, i use the key on the outside door (drivers side) unlock with that..

if you don't and try to use the ign, it will lock you out. I learned this at 2am leaving my girlfriend's house... her dad was pissed lol

Thanks for the suggestion. Seems obvious enough... but at the time, when you're in a commercial building parking lot... you're just trying to shut the thing up while everyone is looking down from the office windows with that look, "what an idiot..."

Cheers.
