1987 Rx7 Primary Ignition Wiring Problem
This is my first rotary car. I have spark on two out of four plugs.
I think my problem is coming from the white connector going to the front or primary ignition coil. The previous owner liked to unplug it when the car sat around to prevent a "dry" start. When I The last time he did this the black with yellow stripe and the green wire pulled out. I have them back in with black with yellow stripe going to the red on the other side and the green going to the tan or brown. The tan or brown wire color is hard to tell because it is faded and dirty. Does anyone have the same car? Can you see if this is correct so I know if this is my issue or not? |

Re: 1987 Rx7 Primary Ignition Wiring Problem
The wires ended up being backwards. The mass air sensor flap was corroded so that car would start and shut right down. The air tube was sucking in on itself. I got the flap loosened up and the car runs ok.
Do these cars all have that up and down idle? |

Fresh fuel has made it idle much better.
