Hmm --
Going on just your description of the problem I'm a bit confused. Seems to me you might have a couple different problems. 1) A noise inside the door that goes away shortly after the engine is started. 2) The drivers window is inopoerative. For #1; I don't want to jump to any conclusions just yet 'cause it can be one of several things, and a better description might narrow that down. For example, the door lock solenoid makes a nosie, etc. Is the "noise coming" from the drivers door in response to just the ignition key turning on, or is there something else happening too? For #2; Check all the fuses and relays first. Is there any sound from the drivers door window motor when the up/down switch is activated? If there's no motor sound, we need to be sure power is going to the motor. That may be best analysed by removing the door panel and applying a power source directly to the motor connector to see if the window operates under direct power (hot wire). If the hot wire test fails to run the motor, the motor is shot. If the motor runs and the window still wont move, the problem is either the Window Regulator or the Drive motor Gear (transmission). Post results of your testing and noise isolation/clarification.
