Re: 2000 Olds shilouette trans hard shift
On old models like mine, this (temp reading) was a mechanical device , like a bimetal, that inhibited the transmisison from the inside but your 2000 T60 has an electronic sensor reading that is fed to the computer..and the computer makes the shift decision: it should pop a code..P0710 to P0714. At leat till 1999, this was fed to the Powertrain module, not to a separate transmission computer. www.avigex.ca/xport/1998diagram.gif NOt sure for 2000.
There are possibly other transmission codes relative to other conditions that could point to other inhibit causes.
