Lincoln LS 2004 3.0 Heart and AC Half Working
I have a Lincoln LS 2004 3.0, its heat and AC do not work correctly. In winter, one side is not too hot, just warm, and the other side is cold. In summer, one side has AC, and the other side is hot. By checking this Forums, it seems like the issue is with DCCV (heater valves). Is there a good way to check the DCCV heart valve? There is no any engine code with Autozone engine scanner.

Re: Lincoln LS 2004 3.0 Heart and AC Half Working
The scanners at the autoparts stores typically read engine codes only. I have yet to hear or a parts store that has a scan tool which can read the climate control system like the professional tools can.
The issue you have with you LS could be due to a failed DCCV, door/flap motor, or possibly one or more failed temperature sensors in the cabin ducts. If you have access to a professional scan tool it can make diagnosing the temp sensors and door/flap motors easier. Without access to such a scan tool you're stuck with making voltage measurements to the DCCV, listening for clicking sounds when changing temperatures and modes, and swapping out sensors to see if that changes the behavior. The last time I had to purchase temp sensors and door/flap motors they were about the same price each ($25) and pretty easy to replace. The DCCV is quite a bit more expensive and quite a bit more involved to replace. -Rod |
