I purchased a new Cadillac a few years ago. It was the most expensive car I ever bought but it turned out to be the worst car I have ever owned. The dealership was, like many, full of ---- , err, I mean excuses and doubletalk about the many problems. So far my Lexus is great. |

I just bought an RX330, but I did consider the Caddy SRX (which I think the original poster meant, an RX330 vs a CTS is a silly comparison - apples and oranges). The SRX is better in some ways - way more cargo room, roomier, arguably better looking, RWD-based so better handling, better towing ability. However, its interior is close, but no cigar, the mileage (6 or 8) is quite poor, the 6 version just feels under-powered and works too hard, the 8 is vastly over-priced, and rsale will be poor.
The RX has the benefits of superb fit/finish, decent power and mileage, reliability, ridiculously good resale, very comfy ride and adequate handling. However storage space is poor. The back seats should fold flat and don't; stying is a little troubling (inflated or scared ES look), and ther have been the oil gelling problems. The Rx is better, but the Caddy is quite close overall and, as I say, better in some ways. Frankly, if it came with a more economical engine, I might have bought the Caddy. |

Hey, hope you enjoy the RX. What did you mean by the oil gelling problems with the RX? I'm not aware of that type of possible problem but I would like to be informed. Also, if you chose black as the color, be careful to keep it clean, especially from bird droppings. I was informed via the forum that Lexus/Toyota uses a soft paint with black and does not clearcoat the finish. |
