Unhappy Crankshaft Oil Leak

I notice some fresh oil leak on the floor at the bottom of my car. Looks like it comes below the rear crankcase and next to the flywheel. Is there a quick fix without resorting to replacing the oil seal? If I leave it as it is, will it get worst? Oil seal was replaced at the last overhaul about 6 years back and car usage is moderate.

You're gonna have to change the seal, or keep topping up. No quick fixes for something like that.

unless the seal is leaking due to excessive crankcase pressure... have you checked/replaced the PCV (Positive Crankcase Vent) valve? If this valve is not operating correctly, blowby gasses build up in the crankcase and can force oil out, even through good seals (because the seal wasn't designed to operate at that sort of pressure difference).

This was the case on my car a few months ago. It had always leaked 'a bit' from near the front of the engine, possibly the main crank seal, and a few other spots. After I replaced the PCV valve, I haven't seen any oil on the underside of the engine, anywhere!
