Need advice...

I drive CRV and lived in Malaysia. When i drive at 80 km/h, there's a noisy sound heard which i guess coming from front wheels (sound like problem with bearing). I went to workshop twice (different workshop), and they have changed both bearing and also the drive-shaft (1st workshop), unfortunately, the noisy sound won't disappear and still exist. At second workshop (a week after), again, they have changed both bearing but the sound is still there. I went back to the 2nd workshop, after complaint about the disappearing sound, they told me that, that type of sound often coming from the wheel (bearing), and might be also coming from gearbox, which the cost is more expensive. :-((

Is it true the 'problem bearing sound' is similar to problem with gearbox?
What estimated cost it will be to fix that? The cost in Malaysia?

Yes a bad bearing in the trans could sound like a wheel bearing. The best was to check for a bad wheel bearing is with a stethoscope. That way you can pin-point a noise without guessing. Also a bad wheel bearing will fade in and out if you swerve while driving. Is it a manual transmission?

thanks for your reply buddy,

mine was automatic transmission.. stethoscope? yes... after complaining about the disappearing sound, they used that technique.

Is it true the cost to fix is more expensive?
