Arrow Fiat History

Small cars are attractive no matter where they are. Not only do they look incredibly cute, their miniscule sizes make them a breeze to park. Fiats, with their distinctive rounded contours, are some of the must-have small cars nowadays.

The history of Fiat began when the company was set up at the end of the nineteenth century in 1899. The first Fiat cars were manufactured in 1900 and did not come with reverse gears. The cars came to prominent attention when 9 of the cars arrived at the finish line after taking part in the first car Tour of Italy. Production range soon increased to include commercial engines, marine vehicle, trucks and trams. The cars themselves continued to be prominent in racing competitions. The Fiat factory completed in 1922 became an emblem of the Italian automotive industry.

Currently, Fiat cars are designed with the aim of producing high-tech content and intelligent solutions for simplifying aspects of daily life as carried out in the cars. The engines in the new Fiat car models are intended to save fuel while maintaining top notch performance. An evolution of the "Common Rail principle" produced a new system which was the basis for the second-generation Fiat engines. The new engines range from a small 1.3L to a large and powerful 1.9L.

Fiat's small cars are endearingly attractive, allowing the company to capitalize on the prevailing sentiment that good things come in small packages. The cars themselves bear design influences of Italian cars from the 60's and 70's as well as Italian culture and fashion. The compact exterior of Fiat cars deceptively belie a surprisingly spacious interior which allows all but the most gigantic of drivers to stretch out comfortably.

With history on its side and a solid commitment to innovative design and environmental friendliness, Fiat can only go on to greater heights in the automotive industry.
