How much power?

I was just wondering how much sub power I can put into my 89 Chevy Cavalier 2-door z24 without:

1. Shattering my windows
2. Blowing my trunk open
3. Blowing my Ear drums out

What would you suggest I set up in my car? How much would it cost?

Also, as a seperate question, set up the best system you can think of for my car, within a 300 dollar budget, I have the CD player and all the speakers besides the subs. Thanks.

Good luck finding power for $300

You're not going to find anything close to the power you want for 300. A good Bandpass box without the sub is around 100 itself, then you have to buy a good amp ($150-xxx), then you have to get a loud sub(s) ($75-xxx)

You might want to look into a dual 10" sub box and 2 10" woofers. but the amp is where you're going to get hurt...if you want power..you have to pay the cash.

Sorry man

i dont know anything about engines but i know a lot on car audio. first dont think of buying a bandpass box. each sub requires its own special bandpass box to play its best. besides over time the bandpass box will screw up the sub since its not designed for the sub. build your own box. it will cost you around $20 to build it yourself. i suggest making a sealed box. then get a jl audio 12w0. i have 2 of them and i broke my rear view mirror right off my windshield. i have to frequently glue it. a 12w0 will cost you $100. get a pioneer gm-x952 for an amp. it puts out 300x1 and sounds really good. you can get those off ebay for $130. you would have a sealed box, 12w0 and 300 watt amp for $250 total. you could spend more on carpet for the box and your wiring. that should put you right around $300.
