I have 2 questions about my 1989 Ford Bronco II...
To start off my truck is a 1989 Ford Bronco II XL 2.9L V6 Automatic
1st) When my engine gets warm it feels like it's shifting up then shifting down, what could be the problem? 2nd) My gas gauge always reads full until it starts getting closer to empty then it starts going down slowly, like it normally should, what could be the problem here? |

Re: I have 2 questions about my 1989 Ford Bronco II...
If you are experience hard transmission shifts, it is possible that the only problem is a low transmission fluid level. Low transmission fluid level can change the operating pressures of the transmission as well as reduce the amount of lubricant present between the clutches and bands and raise transmission temperatures. All these things can cause hard or jerky shifting. You need to identify why the transmission has a low fluid level and refill it as soon as possible.

Re: I have 2 questions about my 1989 Ford Bronco II...
I just joined as a member and can't seem to figure out how to make a new post but I just bought a 1988 Bronco II. Drove it home yesterday, ran rough from sitting and had gage problems to include the temp gauge showing it was over heating.
Today, I decided to start some routine maintenance including putting a new thermostat in it and changing the spark plugs and wires. Though I didn't verify the gap with a gage I compared old to new and gap appeared fine, now the vehicle doesn't start. I rechecked all spark plug wires for fit, location on distributor etc. and still no start, like it's not getting fuel or not firing correct. The old plugs also appeared to be dry but as I said the vehicle had started both yesterday and this morning. I'm guessing it's something simple but not sure what? Any help would be appreciated. |

If that's all you did, either gap is wrong or plug wires are not in the correct firing order. ie you can't gap plugs by sight...What engine?
