Custom CRX WIDEBODY, Need help with rims. Need some input.
I making a custom widebody for my CRX, and I need help with the rims, I dont know what to get
I want the rims to be as wide as possible, at least 9" I dont mind making wheel adapters or spacers, I have access to a few machine shops. I was considering rims for the corvette, but they are 9" fronts and 11" rears. I could mount the rears on the front and the fronts on the rear, which would make the car look kind of funny, but at least the wide rims would be on the drive wheels. Or I could mount the rears on the rear and the fronts on the front, which would make it look normal, but then I would be labeled as a type-r sticker collecting poser who doesn't realize his CRX is FWD (or will ppl really think that?). Does somebody make widebody rims (aka reverse rims, deep dish rims, negative offset rims, or bajas style rims) for the CRX? I've seen them on supras, rx7's and is300's. I would rather go with the deep dish rims than regular rims b/c if I want the smallest wheel spacers possible to reduce rotating mass. I'm looking for opinions here, what do you think I should do? |

Custom widebody kit? Not gonna elaborate there. First off the reason that the corvette wheels would work and that the RX7, supras have those type of wheels is because they are rear wheel drive. So any type of 4 lug 4x100 wheels should do the trick.

The bolt pattern doesn't matter, like i said i can make adapters and wheel spacers
And the only difference between RWD and FWD rims is the offset |

Ohh you want opionions here? I think you should say fuck the widebody bullshit and just make the car go fast instead of look it and be something that you are afraid to drive hard in fear of busting the kit off.

I think the rims on this CRX are from wheelchoice.com. They are probably SSR wheels. Ive only seen wide [IMG][/IMG] 4lug patters on ssr wheels.

Man that is one ugly, purple widebody crx. I agree with Santas90si, go fast before you look good. Why would you put stuff like that on your car if you're worried about what people will say?

How about these ones? I think the silver one would look good with wider wheels and hats-off to whoever did the blue one, however I would ditch the wings on both cars.

I just need some places that sell deep dish rims
I've been googling and ebaying for a while and I can't find much I'm not installing these rims for looks entirely, I want more traction when going around turns. I've done drawings of the whole thing, make a 3D simulation of it in Cinema 4D, and I've planned out how all the foam molds are going to be made. I'm mildly considering marketting it if it turns out nice. I also won't drive in fear of busting it off. Not to sound like an ass, but I'm actually quite a good driver... I've only seen a couple deep dish rims that I like, most of them are ugly. Those ones on the purple CRX make me feel barfy... The rims on the silvia rex are not deep dish |
