Die Töpless Triö Rides Again! Porsche 356 Group Büild
Act II (Start Müsik)
As the sun slowly sets behind the mountains, the three valkyries meet in the high tower of Schloss Überwürst. Over large steins of bier they relive the glories of their recent victories, while they plot their next conquest.... "Zo, next we will build ze Enthü Porsches, ja?" "Jawhol, mit keine büstenhalter!" "Ja, natürlich!" (You will just have to imagine us without our iron bras.) In 1948 Porsche built it's first pröduction car, the 356. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, we have decided to take on Füjimi's möst magnificent monüment to Porsche, car modeling, and över-engineering: the Enthüsiast Model 356. (Yes, the one with the pistöns included inside the engine.) Cönvertible ones, of course. There will be bier, phötoetch, phötoshop, machined parts, and many, many ünnecessary ümlaut- plus the usual nönsense. And maybe even some building. Enjöy!

Re: Die Töpless Triö Rides Again! Porsche 356 Group Büild
Hallo Kameraden.
Ich freue mich sehr, für diese zweite Kapitel Before all I choose a model: it would be the 1,6 litres Speedster!!!!! Than the problem to choose a color... There are several cool color in the '55-'65 Glasurit Porsche range... I imagined it Ivory, than Fjord Green, Black (with chrome trims...) but eventually I choose the awesome Ruby Red. Ever eventually it can't be the right colour (!!!!!) since my body shop has one unique code (Lechler) for any Ruby Red between '57 to '65... it come out a bit darker I guess (but we'll see polished to judge) and so I christen it "Magnificent Ruby Remole Deep Red" MRRDR if you like Opps sorry let me show the model and the color, than I'll share my plan: This must be the real Ruby: And here a Ruby Speedster (looks a bit photoshopped...) Mine would be a racer, so not bumper and 1 seater soft cover: The kit is so good that we started to wonder the build as OOB, than we shared 1 million ideas and we planned to add few special thouches: engine would have some great PE air filters I'm redoing the windscreen surround, since may be the worst kit's part, as well as the chrome speedster trims on sides and other stuff by PE. The final result would be near the following, obviously in Speedster shape:

Fäntästic. It´s really nice to see how you guys loose your mind - make my madness seem less scary.
The projects are exciting. Let´s see which bathtubs the other two have up their sleeves. Oh, and I´m not going to tell you what to look out after with the Enthusiast kits having done one myself in the past. Your german skills show that you are ´so gute Ingenieure´. You will do just fine. Robert P.S.: Keep the German coming

Re: Die Töpless Triö Rides Again! Porsche 356 Group Büild
Guten Abend leiber autotiveforumsmaniakenfendelisheringugfunken!
I’ll doing the Competition version 365 Speedster. I have absolutely no plans whatsoever about color, detailing or …. Anything. Basically this is going to be a “go with the flow and move with the groove” build for me and I’ll see what comes up as I progress (but in all probability it will be a straight OOB build with a couple of wires in a few places ) BTW, in case you were wondering, I’m the one in the middle that lööks like a transvestite version of Asterix the Gaul I have started this project from the bottom and will be working my way up to the body a) to give me plenty of time to worry about body color and b) just in case I meet some fitment issues. So far I have got most of the chassis and tub parts cleaned, primed and detail painted and have added the odd p/e bolt here and there. Seats were pre-shaded with an ink marker pen. Brake master cylinder has been plumbed Since the brake detailing will be invisible after assembly, I thought it would be a nice idea to cut out one of the molded-in access panels and let it serve its original purpose I later added some p/e screws to the hatch cover.

Hey Klutz, my friend.
You promised with the 250 TR that you would stop building the same kits as I do . Du sollst nicht lügen! Just to remind you: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=670202 Have you checked your trunk lid? Mine was warped beyond repair. I never got it to fully fit to the body. The start looks promising though you found out that most of the detailing can not be seen afterwards. Cheers Robert

Reading thru this tread is just like what Dave Bowman must've experienced on that ride in 2001: A Space Odyssey. What a rush.
"under 3000 words per post.." -Brilliant! Being so busy and away from modelling now for months, this is exactly what I needed.

Re: Die Töpless Triö Rides Again! Porsche 356 Group Büild
Great job Steve, I love the detail in the front compartment.
Done something, starting from the powerplant: we shared some ideas about the enine's parts fitting: looks like it's not perfect OOB: we guessed a solution may be cut and sand down all registration pins from each shell, glue parts (ex. cylinders) and carefully sand a bit the junction and scribe details with a PE saw. Looks like it work. It's not so noticeable from the picts (also the engine is microscopic..) but I played with several Model Master Metalizer shades: alu for the block and cylinders, Alu followed by Magnesium and a light shade of steel for the gearbox (so buffing you'll expose a bit of the edge's alu ), steel for the carbs. I washed all a couple times with thinned acryl black; carbs were washed with a orange/pink shade (Lifecolor tensio-active). (yep I know not so noticeable: I'll try to do better pict outside when the engine is finished) Than I decided to play a bit. I decided to do few PE but at last I designed a good set to detail the Carrera a and B/C: this would be for sale then as quick as I'll try all parts and the service etch me first production sheets. Obviously my TT partners would have my prototypes to use soon Following the paper and metal mesh oval air filters, you'll see the interesting wing nut: those is MPWR copyright , great idea buddy And finally the very first fitting tests with carbs, fan cover and filters: Parts are home made prototypes: I thrust pro etched PE I'll get would be better

I worked also on the poor (ok .. scary..) front hood's fitting: working with 2K automotive poliester putty I got some results...
All this becouse I would like to get the chance to see my model also closed, to relish the neat design.
