Re: Classic Truck : Fiat 300 CT - H type fiat cabin 1/24
after looking the wonderful documentary made in the 70s by Fiat itself, I think I will make this guy as a 697 used in the movie "rotta Karachi".
Differences between 300 and 697 are minimal, and I think mostly under the cabin. I took some screenshots from the movie, available for free on youtube, and will post theme willing to help anybody wanting to build the same vehicle. I think is real cool, even more with cabin in Dutch colors wonder the sort of this company from Klundert. I love those 70s movies... Here the chassis fitted with correct cabin. he start to look nice and of course..my little friend always so interested in my modelling....

Re: Classic Truck : Fiat 300 CT - H type fiat cabin 1/24
thanks a lot my Friend.
Plastic wipers are not so nice in this model. The 697/300 serie had 3 wipers instead of the 2 ones as in 190s following ones. I made theme with some hobby design PE. Very soft and very nice quality. as well as the ac unit must be placed on the roof and the plate for the company plate. I made theme in alluminium then is time to proceed with some paint. As said this will be a big dutch flag allover the cabin as per documentary Images. I love those colors really...

Re: Classic Truck : Fiat 300 CT - H type fiat cabin 1/24
company decals in position, it is starting to take life..
my 12.00 resin wheels.. and then some weathering for the lower part (Julian forgive me plz for the mistaken Magirus V10 unit...even the one from 190s were v8 mistaken too for the 697, but this truck didnt had a front foldering cabin..so this will be well hided) My idea was to do something tired like this.. a short cabin 697 forgotten by all somewhere... so I did this: the infamous rear axle so easy to break. This was before the cantilever suspensions used in 330 and all the modern dumper ones and here i found a diamond...the rare italian commercial at the time of the join with magirus deuts. they promote the only v12 air cooled unit, and some reports this was a direct evolution from the sd.kfz 222 Puma motors...

Re: Classic Truck : Fiat 300 CT - H type fiat cabin 1/24
it is hard to model when there are so nice days here in the north. Sometimes I paint and build in the way to plan for a resting day (of the colors, not mine). Fishing from the cliff is extremely relaxing and this is the perfect season to take makrill and salmons...
and then time to proceed with weathering of 697 chassis. As usual i apply my dark/lights technique, and is always better work with pil paints with good material. here the difference between a good brush and a poor one. Of course there is a majior price difference, being the nice one the kolinskj serie from windsor and newton (handmade brushes...with real fur) as (nearly) in everything, the more u spend the more they last... and here my baby an important note is about the wheels. It couldnt be possible to make those trucks without the correct wheels. Too many nice models around use ordinary italeri wheel, that is referred to later trucks. This is the only 12.00 around, and the tyre is a resin copy of the wheels from revell (from krupp titan or london bus). they are a big plus on those recreations in my opinion

Re: Classic Truck : Fiat 300 CT - H type fiat cabin 1/24
I made some details in the truck cab. I try figure it out the long jurney inside those vehicle, so beers, magazines posters... starting from amsterdam and arrive down there should not be so easy, even more with the comfort of the 70s...
main windshield must be refitted for the shorter dimension obtained cutting the roof. was smaller than 190s serie and here with some other italian stuff... Is always cool look vehicles in the same scale. trucks are REALLY big compared to racers.. soon the pics of the completed truck
