Thanks a lot, PMan. I did that with the windshield of the Tamiya Subaru Impreza and the masking tape that is included in the kit. I brushpainted the window frames and the paint went under the masking tape. How could I avoid that?

Great post!!
Super job....I had wondered if I was doing it "right". I guess anyway that works is right, but your way looks much easier! I have airbrushed in the past out of fear of bleeding under the tape. I'll use this method on my current project!!
THANK YOU! Rick BTW- Maybe we could all pitch in and buy the Pman an airbrush?? :flash: |

Snooker......just press down as hard as possible with a cloth or rub a toothpick along the edge of the tape to seal it down.
Forhod.....I usually paint all the rubbers and the inside of the car....wait a few minutes (3-4) then add the second coat on. Thanks for the possitve feed back guys....glad to try and help out.

If you have some useful tip, I will put it there too. Thanx Pman!

you know for real cars, the "rubbers", some of the things don't really shine and stuff. You know, for like the window trim and stuff. So wouldn't a flat black look better or more realistic? I'm not sure, just a suggestion...

I think that best color is semi gloss black.

WOW
you guys should get Tamiya Masking TAPE!! it's just amazing for modelling masking.. the bigger generic stuff that we all have doesn't work very well, the edges don't seal good and paint usually slides under.. i think those masking tapes were designed more for household uses, than modelling. GET TAMIYA TAPE 10MM is good. |
