Seen this earlier, and should have said something. so I'll say it now. All ford drive shafts are shit? Then why is it that almost EVERY 69 CHEVY CAMARO that has been turned into a race car, uses a Ford Rear end? Almost all serious racing folk out there know what I'm talking about. If they are making shit driveshafts or what ever, then tell em to quit. |

Hey mikey, i couldnt' say for sure what's wrong with your truck, but there is definently something not right. I have a 99 f150 lariat with the 5.4 and it has probably more power than a 1/2 ton truck needs. you should be able to turn a corner and bald a tire if you put the hammer down. I pulled a 35ft 5th wheel camper and i never went under 50 pullin some pretty big hills, the only problem i had was that the camper was too heavy for my stock suspension. I'd agree with the guy to check your converter, or mabey even O2 sensors. I hope you can figure out what's wrong with it cuz i had a problem with my coil packs going bad, and i know it can really piss you off. AS for the people that are going off about all the different shit like drive shafts. what the hell is your problem, he asked about gettin his truck to run right, what the hell does that have to do with drive shafts and all that other shit you people are going off about?
If your still havin trouble mikey, you'll have to get in touch, i have some friends that are really awesome with the triton motors and i'm sure they could help u out. |

ford trucks suck
Hey dodgerox-rmcgraw351, it looks to me that you two (and others) are in the wrong forum. Maybe you need to find dodge or chevy forums or did you get tired of reading bad comments about you own vehicles so you switched over to ours.

Re: My F-150.... Should have bought somthing else
My dad had a 91' f-150 w/ 4.9l I6 engine don't know the performance numbers sorry, but it was a XLT Lariat. He would always be halling somthing. Constantly had three tool boxes in the back it was one of the strongest engines Ford ever made with over 200,000 miles on it the only things we ever replaced were the clutch, tires of corse, and the belts at 200,000 miles because they were so old and my dad didn't want them to break on him. We got rid of it at 220,000 miles and gave it to my granfather and it runs like brand new now. Now we have a 03' f-250 4dr. w/ new 6.0l power stroke and might i add it has a 100,000 mile warranty. While our Expedition has a 65,000 mile warranty.

Re: My F-150.... Should have bought somthing else
Damn people, give me a Ford V6 anyday over any other motor. Have had no problems at all with any Ford V6's and all I ever drive are those motors. Got 2 now...1 has 178,000 the other has 195,000, just waiting for the day that bad boy turns over, I'm going to pull over and do a little dance on the side of the road!

Coming from a ford dealer, dodge does it cause they know they are junk, they are smart becuase with a warranty, people feel safe when they buy a piece of shit that just looks good with a warranty And don't even get me started on GM trucks, just look at all the telephone workers and any other bucket truck or truck that has held alot of weight in its day, THE DAMN FRAME SAGS, nice quality piece of JUNK that GM made there The new 5.4liter motor and new f150 is quite the truck, trust me, I drive em and sell em Dude, have your codes scanned and check your exhaust, I would also check your plugwells for oil and maybe even any leaky gaskets |

should've bought something else.
I've owned Fords, Cherolets and dodges but, I always come back to Ford.
Did you Dodge owners ever wonder why they give a 7 70 warranty? maybe because they know stuffs going to mess up. ervinj |

F-150
I think the Fords are the best, but won't knock any other domestics. I now have a 2002 with 97,000 miles on my XLT Super cab, 4X4 with a 6.5 Ft. box and love it, but will be getting a new 2005 XLT 4X4 with a 8ft. box soon.
There is always something wrong to find in these trucks, in mine it is the front suspension clunking sound? But it has never failed me. Since the price of gas is up 300% from a little over a year ago I wish I could get 40 MPG but we know that will not be allowed. Gas hog yes, but what a truck. |
