Rust inside 2010 escalade 50,000. HELP ME!?!?

I just bought a used 2010 escalade with 50,000 miles on it. I live in mn and had it shipped to me from a infinity dealership in PA. Loath and behold I started to see rust in weird places. So I google water damaged cars and was told to look underneath your car seats and see if the bare metal was rusty. Sure enough it WAS. Bright orange rust... OOOH NO(. I then looked underneath the steering wheel and all the bare metal was also bright rusty orange. This rust is consistent on all the bare metal in my car. ITS EVERYWHERE!!! I'm curious what the heck I just bought? Do you guys think that this car was under ten feet of water or did the previous owner just leave his windows down in a major rain storm or is this a seaside car? I need your guys HELP!!! What do I DO???

The carfax was clean prior to buying it one owner. Do you think moisture in the air/humidity would cause this?

If you have a moisture meter with the two pins, that would work well here. But don't just go through from the top, pull up the carpet like Maxwedge states and check from the bottom of the insulation. If the carpets were recently shampooed they could indicate moisture from above, but it would take more water than a typical shampooing to saturate through the insulation. Also, the insulation will hold moisture for quite a while, longer than most people would leave it out to dry if they were trying to flip a flood vehicle.

you should have done a carfax. The car is probably a rebuilt title. We rent out several cadillac escalade esv and have never had any rust issues. Luxury car rental
