T&C 2002 FWD Need Front Brake Pads

I just want to see if anyone have any pointers concerning brake pads for a 2002 T&C van with front wheel drive and pads on the front and back. I am going to purchase the pads at the dealer and put them on myself. Hopefully it is a straight forward process. The van has 35000 that are mostly highway miles.

The back are 50% used and front is 90% used per goodyear autocare

Thanks for any help

Re: T&C 2002 FWD Need Front Brake Pads

Replace the front pads and leave the rears alone. The front pads do the majority of stopping on any vehicle and therefore wear the fastest. Also, why spend the money to buy pads from the dealer, go to Autozone and get a set of performance friction carbon metallics and replace the pads. They have a lifetime warranty and will cost less than the pads from the dealer. Changing the pads is not problem you will need a Torx bit around size No. 45 to remove the bolts. Pull the caliper, compress the piston, replace the pads. If the rotors are worn you may want to replace them as well while you have the calipers off the vehicle. Good Luck!
