Installing a hitch on the Pilot
I have a 2003 Pilot and was considering installing a trailer hitch, has anyone out there done this themselves? Where did you buy the hitch? Did you install the honda recomended larger power steering cooler and the larger transmission cooler? There are just so many types of hitches out there for the pilot, some for 100 bucks up to the honda one for close to 300.

Re: Installing a hitch on the Pilot
I looked at buying a hitch too but it's pretty expensive. I really just need the hitch to install a bike rack so I probably won't worry about the transmission cooler for smaller items. I think it really depends on the load your going to pull.

Re: Installing a hitch on the Pilot
Same here - just for bike rack. Cost around $275 and took 30 minutes to install. If you're towing weight you probably need the recommended coolers (plus wiring).
BTW - you probably have a pretty average set of 'car' tires on your Pilot. You might want SUV tires that can handle more load too. |
