00accordv6 vs. 00 civic si......

hi ppl im a newbi to this site. my friend just recently got his car and is bragging that he can kill me in his si but im not sure what would happen if i raced him. i have a 00 accord v6 and he has a 00 civic si and both are completely stock so who do you think would come out the victorious....

I believe that the Si would take the accord
V-6 compared to a 4 banger isnt the only thing that matters. Power to weight ratio, is your accord stick? things like that matter as well.

Accord LX V6 (2001)
200hp, 195ft/lbs torque @ 4700rpm

1/4 mile:16sec @ 88mph

Civic Si (1999-2000)
160hp, 111ft/lbs torque @ 7000
weight: 2584
1/4 mile: 15.6sec
0-60: 7.1

You can see clearly that not only is the Si faster in 1/4mile, but it is faster in the 0-60 as well.

as to Lan Evo's statement, i believe that the 2003 accords have 240 hp, not the 2000 accords, therefore that statement is false. so its more like

200hp vs 160hp
3200lbs vs 2584lbs

those above are the power to weight ratios of each car, so the civic si has the accord beaten in almost every performance aspect.

SO the Si should win with no problem unless the guy can't drive stick, than its a whole different story

Are you serious.. The accord has no chance, unless the Civic SI driver can't drive. Civic SI's pull 15.5 1/4 mile times stock

Its plain and simple they may be overrated but that doesn't mean their slower than 98-00V6 accords.

The SiR, US Si IS faster than the accord V6, its not a drivers race, the Si takes it pretty easily.
Ive run 3 times at the track against 2 automatic accords and one stick, none of them were close to beating me. They were .5-.9 seconds slower in the quarter mile. And Sis are NOT overrated, I ran a 15.3 in the 1/4 mile, completely stock.

ehh, if you have a good driver of an Si and both cars are stock, its almost DEAD EVEN. I have an Si and when I was stock I used to be dead even with them and then a friend of mine with a V6 accord got a full exhaust and he raped me.

Now the same is not true with the new Accord V6s, if you race an Si in one of theose the v6 accord 6 speed wont even see the Si in his rear view anymore he would be so far ahead
