What's the difference between a CTR and DX hb?

Besides the engine, right side drive, spoilers, mirrors and such... Is the chassis the exact same? Suspension? I'm trying to do an almost full conversion (minus the left -> right side drive) and if it means ripping off body panels to add things to the frame, I'm all for it.

the suspension is different. probably the only thing that they have in common is the same body shape.

Yup same body shape...

CTR has upgraded suspension, upgraded engine (obviously), differant exhaust, differant wheels (part of the suspension - its also a 5 lug not a 4 lug) better brakes, list could go on and on...

if you are going to call ur HB a CTR (which i wouldnt-because that is what a poser does) you have got to do the 5-lug conversion or you will get laughed at hardcore! just trying to help you out. if u do a good job being a poser you will still get props. i just have seen too many wanna-be Type R tegs out there, and they are quite gross. i am like HELLO why does ur Type R have a sunroof?! haha

Not a single Type R badge is going anywhere on my car, I just want the same exterior look and handling somewhat. My hb has a sunroof too, and I know it's nothing close to a ctr except it's a hatchback... I know about the pointless 5 lug crap, but I'm talking about the actual frame/chassis setup. Is the ctr's bolted together better or are they the exact same?

I agree that a USDM hatch will never be a CTR but the reason behind 5 lugs and Spec R motor swaps is not to pose as a CTR IMO its's restoring the hatch to it's truest form. Posing has nothing to do with it because if it were just posing then it would'nt cost so damn much to do it. 5 lug conversions are not worthless at all. It basically beef up your suspension, brakeing power, and it screams PIMP. Taking a shitty ass DX or CX hatch and making it a well tuned street machine is not posing.

I agree, if it's done clean. If I were to throw a bunch of R crap all over the car I think I'd be posing and/or eating stupid-pills because it would be stolen the next day. I spent about $1200 for 4-lug rims/tires so realistically I doubt I'll do a conversion for another lug any time soon.

ITR's have a lot of little L brackets supporting corner weld spots on the frame, increasing the overall handling/rigidity of the car. GS-R's don't have these.

i said if it is done quite well, u would get some props. it seems like u r taking ur time-which is a very good thing. (just take that "2000 CTR in the making" off of ur profile.) now that is posing-just say HB w/b16b.

94 civic hatch, no badging with a turbo'ed ls engine, and some crappy integra 4 lug rims. NOW thats what I'm talking about. Ohh I do have an LS interior though, goes well with the engine.

Get as close to the type R as possible & loose all badges. Nobody knows. Kind of like those people that put BMW badges cause they got some Z3 style fenders & M3 style mirrors.:
