If you replaced timing chain on 4.0 engine why did you do that and what mileage did..
did you have? I have 180 K on 97 Cherokee. Is it time to replace chain? Thanks.

Are you having any problems with the Jeep? If not, you can probably leave it alone.

'93 w/ 196K, I was considering doing mine in a few months. It makes the telltale clacking sound. I'm not sure if it is harming anything, but I'd rather hear my new exhaust than a clacking timing chain. It's a good time to do an engine flush, take off the oil pan, clean everything real good and put in one of the those flat "filter mags" from Quadratec in the bottom of the oil pan. That's my plan anyways.

Sounds like a plan. But it could go further....cause you never know what you will find. Oil pump ?
