car wont start
having problem getting 1973 grandville to start. have replaced starter silinoid, roter, cap, coil, plugs, and condenser-points. is there a safe way to check and see if the spark plug is firing. if it is firing thenit must be a fuel problem. i also had the carburator rebuilt by a shop that specializes in rebuilding.

Re: car wont start
Pull your coil wire. Use one of your spark plug wires. Plug it into the coil, put a spark plug in it. Lay it close the metal. When you crank you should see the spark.(if not, problem is upstream of the coil or the coil is bad) If good, plug the coil wire back in, using the same plug wire plugged into the distributor, repeat. If spark ignition is good. Then you have pretty much narrowed down its fuel related. Have you sprayed starting fluid into the intake? If it starts and dies, fuel delivery issue.
