'95 no rear heat
On my 95 trans sport there is no heat from the rear vents. The rear fan (activated from the front panel) works, but blows cold air. On the second row of seats, driver side, there is a fan switch, but turning it I cannot hear a fan running. I have tried all vent settings - including defrost as per another thread in this forum, but nothing.....
Does the rear vent use the same heater core as the front?? Help!!! |

Re: '95 no rear heat
THe heater core for the rear is separate, just where you see the fan intake and exhaust, behind driver seat.
ENgine coolant is circulated to that core when front heater mode is either HEAT, HEAT/DEF or DEF. A vacuum actuated valve blocks or allows coolant to the rear core. IN addition, when front heater mode is in heat, heat/def or def, rear warm air is circulated to the floor. In VENT or mix heat/vent, rear air (not heated) exits through roof pillar ducts. CLogged core can impair heat transfer...but NO heat AT ALL from rear heater means coolant does not flow to the rear. Best would be to locate this coolant valve and verify if it changes position, but you have to find it first: behind engine near firewall, left (passenger side) of heater assembly, and low. MAke sure all front heater modes operate normally beause the rear heater function is dependant of proper front heater mode selection and vacuum solenoid valves. So there is a lot of factors in line.

Silly me!! I was checking the roof pillar vents NOT the floor vents. The floor vents have heat. Thanks.
