Question need advice!

I have a 2000 civic ex D16y8 sohc w/ automatic tranny! what I need to know is if I was to buy a jdm B16a motor w/ manual trany how hard would it be to install in my car. (swap engine and tranny) I would rather have the manual just want to know what else would have to be done to make the swap work? can it be done personaly or should it be done pro style? Any help grately appreciated

if your skilled enough to do it yourself, have fun. there are write ups on this board just do a serach to find em.

im gonna be running a b16 with an auto tranny for various reasons, its only 2hp less than a manual b16, but im swapping alot anyway for more power.

a shop will prolly charge you around 2000-3000 for just the auto-stick conversion.

Actually the auto B16A's have 155 ps, as opposed to the manuals 170 ps. They have really crappy cams in the autos, not to mention the trannies are way lame.

First number is the manual, ratio, second is auto.

1st gear 3.230 2.600
2nd gear 2.105 1.516
3rd gear 1.458 1.078
4th gear 1.107 0.772
5 speed 0.848 -
Retreat 3.000 1.954
Deceleration ratio 4.400 4.333

your thinking b16b which had 170hp, the b16a had 160.

cams are already swapped for CTR models, i knew they were terrible.

No, I am thinking of the 92-95 B16A which came in the SiR/SiRII, the other gens and the USDM ones came with 160hp. The B16B CTR motor had 185 Ps, (Ps = .987 Hp and in this case is 187.44 Hp), I hope the valve train has been swapped also.
