Re: List all cars you've owned.
1st car= 1985 Ford Thunderbird 30th Anniversary Edition w/ 5.0 V8 2/17/2000-9/23/2002 (final death b/c of blowing my 3rd transmission).
2nd car= 1992 Dodge Spirit V6 9/28/2002-1/17/2004 (decided to trade it in after going through 2 timing belts) 3rd car= 1989 Ford Ranger 6/19/2001-3/28/2002-biggest piece of crap I've ever owned. 4th car= 2002 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 V6, best car I've had so far; quiet, roomy, economical, low maintainance a diamond!

Re: List all cars you've owned.
1995 Geo Metro. It was totalled, but it was a good car at 140,000 miles.
1986 Porsche 944. Its sitting in my driveway right now. Its a great car. Fast, and it handles great. 1993 Geo Tracker Lsi hardtop. Its a 5spd, w/ red/black interior, and auto locking hubs. I'm picking it up next weekend. |

Re: Re: List all cars you've owned.
I started off driving one of my parents cars, an '89 Olds Ninety-Eight. That big ole v8 would roast a VTEC Integra any day of the week, as I would often prove to the morons at my high school
As soon as i got a job though, my parents said i'd have to pay for my own gasoline But they offered to help me buy a car from a friend of theirs, an '83 Nissan Sentra. This thing must've sat in the sun since the day it rolled off the line. The silver paint was so faded it was gray, the interior was so dry and crusty that if you wiped it off with a towel part of the dash came off with the dust!! But since the car was so light, flogging the 1.6L carbureted I4 within an inch of its life produced rather amazing results. 9 times out of 10, it would still beat most stoplight competitors (i think its more about the driver than the car anyway). After having someone back out into me in a Target parking lot and totalling it (he fled the scene and i didn't get a plate) I turned around and got another Nissan, this one in nicer shape. An '85 Stanza hatchback. A little more car, but a little more engine also, and it had air conditioning, and a sunroof, and plenty of cargo room with the rear seats folded down. I wired it up with two Polk Audio 8in subs and proceeded to confuse everyone in town. "Where is that incredibly loud bass coming from? it can't be that old hatchback, can it?" Sadly, its demise came about in a scenario that played out like this: turning left across a rather busy street, looks clear, but its always the car you don't see that hurts the most. I swear, the old guy didn't even hit his brakes. He caught the right rear corner just behind the rear wheel....if i'd stomped on the gas a little harder i would've made it. the entire back of the car got skewed to the left, throwing off the alignment and making the hatch inoperable. It was time to car-shop again. I took the insurance money and bought my current daily driver, an '86 Subaru GL. This is by far, the funnest of the group, it has a little bit higher ground clearance, much beefier suspension, but all-around better handling. I've even taken it offroading a few times, and nothing has broken yet, I'm impressed! It's had a few issues, I replaced the oil pump shortly after purchasing it, and put on a new timing belt "while i was in there" I also recently installed a new water pump and swapped in new CVs....I think the engine has more miles on it than the odometer lets on, if ya know what i mean. It'll need a new carb soon, but i'm thinking about swapping over the turbo, manifold, fuel injection, and 4wd tranny from the top-trim-level GL-10 of the same year. Then it would be my winter/offroad car. Minor issues aside, its a solid performer. My current project is an '87 Nissan Pulsar NX SE. I rescued it out a friends back yard. It hasn't run since '95 and nobody's quite sure why. He did run it into a telephone pole, but had all the body work fixed before having anyone look at the engine. Shortly after, it stopped working. His money spent, he parked it in the backyard and drove his Jeep instead. That was 11 years ago... I've since towed the car to my house and work on it over weekends or whatever time I have. I think I've tracked it down to the fuel pressure regulator, or something else in the vicinity. 89 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight (my parents sold it) 83 Nissan Sentra (is no more) 84 Nissan Stanza (dearly departed) 86 Subaru GL (still going) 87 Nissan Pulsar NX SE (any day now!) |

The Jaguar is sold and we have an '02 Hyundai Accent as a cheap economy car for my wife (though we are eying a classic Mercedes 450SL for her), and the Fiat Spider is painted and finished: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cvetters3/fiat_spider.htm And we recently bought a classic Winnebago motorhome: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cvetters3/winnie1.jpg To go camping in. Love it because it's a registered historic vehicle! Lastly, my '63 Comet convertible is now in my garage here on the east coast, so I can finally finish it: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cvetters3/Comet09.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cvetters3/comet_home1.jpg
