HELP! Transmission Problem & High idle @ 1300

Well this is my 1st Mits and my 1st post so I hope I can get the support cause I gots a problem with my trans

I just bout my 1993 Diamonte for $2300 knowing there was an idle problem. Once I got it home I noticed a much BIGGER PROBLEM here goes...

-Car is ALWAYS in 2nd gear never shifts up or down!
-Bogs out on acceleration (symptom of starting in 2nd gear)
-High Rpms 1-1.3k @ Idle slams down to 800 when in gear
-When Put into reverse or Drive gears car SLAMS into gear
-When put in neutral car RPMS increase from 800 back to initial 1.3k
-Trans does not manually shift into 2nd or LOW gears

Any suggestions, or is the transmission fukked?

I'm going to start with a fluid flush with the CORRECT ATF. I heard this could work wonders.

I LOVE THIS CAR ALREADY and I dont want to have to give it back...please tell me there is hope without spending $2k on a new trans

Diamates goe in 2nd gear when its transmission has problems it is a safe mode so you can limp home. From your description your transmission is bad or on the way out.

Try the idle controll valve... It stopped mine from doing this... I also am going to replace the oxygen sensor.. I am trying to locate the 02 sensor. Look on ebay for these parts... Very resonable. Icv is easy to replace...found to the left of air intake in engine compartment... Just loosen hose clamp and move to right and there it is...find on ebay to get a good view of part then you'll see it
