2003 Aviator - Parking Brake Job Help!

I Failed my saftey inspection due to rear brake pads under the limit and parking brake not holding. i took off the caliper and pads, now trying to access the parking brake shoes but disc wont come off. how do i release any tension on the disc from the parking brake? in the front of the vehicle by the brake release i see the cable, but not sure how to back off the tension...

Two things need to be done, you're on the right track with cable tension...
Also, you may need to retract the Shoe adjuster if the disc is binding...

All try to attach two procedures from the FSM, in pdf format:

Attached one..
Attached two..

Ok, that didn't work.. gimme a second..

Ok, lets try this new hosting service:

Lemme know if that works for you guys, it works for me but I had to register...
