Alternate manifold for a 197?

I was wondering if anyone here knows where I could find a 2 barrel manifold for a straight six OHV. The one barrel is working fine, I was just thinking about a change.

Thanks!

Offenhausen (s/p?) makes a manifold for a 4 barrel conversion on the 199 - 232.

Re: Alternate manifold for a 197?

I've checked in with a few speed shops (Summit, etc) and a few AMC-specialists. No dice so far on a different intake manifold. I'll keep looking and will post a link here in case anyone else is interested.

Are you 100% sure you don't have a 199?

I'm not 100% sure it's not. I should know by the end of July when I take delivery of the old gal.

Thanks for the link! that's exactly what I was looking for.

Re: Alternate manifold for a 197?

It's a 1962 Classic and it seems to have the aluminum 196 OHV. Looks like I can bore it out .030" and possibly find a replacement cam, but beyond that I'm looking at an engine swap somewhere down the road if I want more power.

Re: Alternate manifold for a 197?

IF its a 62 then ,, a aluminum block is silver lookin
cast iron is darker ,
both are OHV and 195.6 cid
thats the only 6 cyl choice
ITs not easy to upgrade engines,, unless prepared to change out transm, torque tube ( driveshaft ) and rear ends. Even the 287 v8 requires a diff. trans and tq-tube and rear... so give it somemore thought.
I have a 1962 Classic with AMCs 401 & 727 ( I built in 1994)
