Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?
wow, thats awesome i wish i had the money to work on mine, im only 15 but i know a lot about motors, but im still learning, no one takes the time to sit down and talk to me about the things im really interested in...so its hard to learn a lot of it, especially cranks and cams, no one has ever told me what this over this duration means exactly...but i have a scat-cat idea of it, and transmissions are new to me but im gettin' it

Hi everyone overthere!!. This is my first post in this forum. I own a 65er Galax ltd 4 door whith the 390cui engine. It's completely stock, even the paint!! She came to the Netherlands in the year 2000. I'm the third owner. The first owner really took care over her for 35 years. Here you can see some pictures of her. It's written in Dutch, so sorry for that.
www.geocities.com/galaxieltd500 greetings from the Netherlands!!! |

Hello again...
Yes, the car is completely original. ok, she is not in showcondition, but for a car which is 40 years old she may have a few spots. Almost no rust at all. I painted the trunk new whith 'Hammerite'paint. I don't know or it's known in your country, but it works fine to me! In the front I cleaned the floor and repainted it also. The engine is the original one, which never has been redone or anything. The only thing she has new is the timingchain, which was renewed in 2003. The things that has to been done are the exhaust , some new weatherseals, and some small things like the radio and clock. I only drive her in the summer whith some meetings and at sundays. The problem over here is the price of the fuel. Around $1,60 a liter! and that whith a consumption of 1 liter every 4 km it's not really cheap driving. So as a daily driver I also have a Buick Century Çustom' from 1991. Yes, also an Amerikan car!! greetings from the Netherlands |

Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?
As my wife knows a bit of Dutch she translated your website for me (a bit)
Those big Fords pretty much disappeared from Canada 35 years ago (rust) except for the odd convertible survivor. I remember seeing them as a kid, but yours is easily as nice as they were when new. Very nice car!! |

Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?
Here's a pict of my 62 Galaxie. My uncle bought it new. Has the 390 Thunderbird Special. Everything is original it has 77K miles on it, the only thing replaced is the upholstery with NOS. Stock it will do 85 mph in the quarter.

Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?
Personally, i like the 67 galaxie 500 fastback. i nearly bought one for 900 from a guy that lost his liscence in it (it had the 390 'firebird special' V-8) but as soon as i came looking he shot the price up to 1,000 then to 1,200 then to 1,800. not worth even the 900 cause of all the rust. Damn it was nice looking though. it was medium primer blue w, ghost flames on the fenders, and a white top.
