Changing speed

Hi, glad to be the first to post under Nitro, hope not to be the only one.
Here's my question: just bought a 2008 Nitro, auto tranny, 3.7L. when tranny changes from first to second speed, it shifts like manual shifting. It's like the motor rpm turn down a bit while shifting and then resume up. Same behavior from second to third gear. Is this normal?

thanks.

Re: Changing speed

Does it have a 6-Speed tranny? If so, it's the same situation in my 2008 Grand Caravan, and yes, it does seem to be normal. So far I'm not a big fan of these trannies, I like the older 4-speeds better. They shifted smoother. But, supposedly these are supposed to make it better on gas. We'll see.
