Fuel line replacement.

Greetings, I found a leaking fuel line where the rubber hose connects to the steel line under the car. I disconnected the line at the fuel pump and the steel line, but it won't pull thru. I am sure they are the same line as the fuel line on both ends is smaller and has screw tightened clamps. The vapor lines are larger and have squeeze clamps. Do I need to lower the gas tank or should it just pull thru?. Thanks in advance. 95 Altima
