The second best looking Lamborghini to the Diablo. Damn I bet in the 60's this thing was the fastest, meanest thing on the road.

Top speed of 180 MPH in the 60's. 0-60 in the high 4's. Damn and it still looks good today.

The sensual Miura

The Lamborghini Miura was definately the most outrageous looking car during the sixties.
Imagine such a car on the road between the other cars available during the Sixties.

How Many?

Soon after the Miura SV model hit the market Lamborghini decided to stop production thinking that sales would drop once customers saw and wanted the Countach. The SV is a great model and I wonder how many unit could have been built and sold before the production Countach was ready. I would think an additional 100-150 would not have been out of the question.
Just some thoughts...

Only 150 Miura SV's were built before Ferruccio halted the production of this magnificent supercar.
And I agree, at least another 100 to 200 units could have been sold before the Countach was even ready to be delivered to the lucky customers, but this way the SV is surely the most sought after Miura model ever, do look out for replica's, many Miura and Miura S models were converted in to SV look alikes ...

Did you guys ever saw the SV-J and SV-R models ?

take a look at this one :

Wing or What??

What the hell is that over the roof/engine ...an airfoil or some sort of GPS/DISH network hookup?

the early Miuras had a problem with airodynamic lift, did they not? That spoiler is probably a functional addition rather than a fashionable one.....I don't think it looks too bad.

I guess it is a prctical solution to having some power out back and light front end. It looks to me like one of those old 'WingWalker" wings where a guy or gal stands on top as the plane does loops and such.
I would like to see a Miura up close..they have almost a timeless quality about them.

I like the roof spoiler... Everyone loved these in the 60's... I wanted one anyway.

What about the mechanicals? Didn't the SV have the split sump?

Re: Sweet

I saw one up close last Father's Day at a car show. It was before I had my digital camera, and I don't have a scanner.
