I've tried to disconnect the battery but the light still comes on. Is there a reset button? if so, where is it and how long do i have to press it to reset the computer? hey i have the same problem with my mazda familia.ive tried disconnection that battery and that but the only way u can get it off is if u take in into a auto electrician and get them to run a scan of your engine and they will clear the codes to make the light go off.

Re: computer reset button?

ABS light on means ABS system failure (initally on after ignition but goes out after tire rotation).

Need to read the codes out with special RR reader.

Fails can be such as sensor gap it too large.

I got my 1991 Range Rover at 63K. Dealer took it to RR and fixed it (gap problem). Light went on again and I have driven it to 169K that way.

MY ABS doesn't function. Coming from Rochester NY and New England I know how to drive in the snow. I have also read you want ABS off while when off-roading so you can plow in loose dirt or mud (turn wheel, slam on brakes build a pile, then you release, vehicle hops on pile). I used this in snow to make quick turns on near ice conditions. ABS won't let you do that.

I could fix ABS but....

Re: computer reset button?

You can check the ABS codes. On my 93 there is a blue plug under my drivers seat front cover.Yours should be the same.Use a paper clip to jump the black and black/pink wires together.Turn the key on.(Do not engage the starter). The anti lock light will begin a series of blinks. The first will be a long blink followed by a short blink. This indicates that the ABS is in diagnostic mode.Start counting the blinks after that. The first code that comes up will be something like blink, blink,a 2.5 second pause, and then blink ,blink,blink,blink,blink.blink.This would indicate a code 2-6.Which happens to be the code for a faulty brake light switch. It will show this code 3 times before going on to the next code.It can be time consuming ,but be patient.Lwt me know what codes you com up with and maybe I can help.
