transmission problems

I have a 1995 eagle talon non turbo with a automatic transmission. It started to slip in high gear and would only go 40 mph. I changed filter and added fluid. Now it will not shift into high gear but has all other gears. If you turn it off and put in park it will start out and shift to second gear and then stay there. Once there it will not down shift until you stop, turn off and start over again. Sometimes it will shift to high gear but then start slipping. If i shift back to second it will hang up there. The car has 1,2,3 and reverse. I for think there is either a computer problem or myabe i am just sol. Please anyone? The car will downshift also from 2 to 1 when you let off the gas pedal. Think hard and give me any and all answers. I am a pretty good mechance on anything except the computer and electrical stuff. So if i have to rebild, replace i can. also if i buy the parts putting them in is not a problem. HELP> Please.
