How difficult is it to replace the top?

Just wondering if it's something we should try to tackle on our own or not?

Re: How difficult is it to replace the top?

It is pretty difficult. I tried on my 95 and it turned out to be pretty hard. You need special tools and special glue. A shop I went to charged me 300 to put the new one on. They did not have to take the old one off, but you must shop around to see who has the better price,... Try going to the VW dealership and asking who they use for the top replacement on the convertibles.
