Pug 205 engine swap

I am currently converting my 205 for use in grass tracking. i was wondering if it would be possible to replace my 1.1L engine for a 1.6 or a 1.9L GTI engine without much bother.

Re: Pug 205 engine swap

amm with not much of a bother u can change it to 1.3 1.4 or 1.6 maybe with no kind of mount changes but if u want the 1.9 GTI it will cost u alot of money and alot of work.

try the 1.6 , the 205 is a very quick car and i think 1.6 liter is inaf.

Re: Pug 205 engine swap

Depends on how you want to do it. If you want to go with the gti injection system then you need the loom, AFM and injectors as well the engine. don't forget the HP fuel pump and tank. I don't know where you are going to grass but check the rules because a carb conversion is a bit simpler but remember you need 40s for 1.6 and 45s for 1.9. the best advice I can give you is to go to the 205gtidrivers.com for more info. These guys have done it all.
