Re: Jean Todt's Ferrari FXX. Using SMS superset

The CF truly is awesome!

Did I uderstand correctly that this is a new type/pattern of CF? A sort of "Hi-Def ver. 2.1"?

That carbon looks so deep. It's mesmerizing.

I'd like to add my vote for no stripes. It's overdone imo.

Re: Jean Todt's Ferrari FXX. Using SMS superset

As ever Dave, your craftsmanship is truly outstanding. I think you should leave the stripe off. That glossy, realistic carbon finish will look superb once the model is complete.

Will this new type of carbon be available in sheet form?? It really appears to be a step forward in realism.

I say add the stripes.

The line is an optical courtesy of the pattern. Not something I feel is "real" nor would you ever see it on a real car.

Add the stripe! You will have an exact replica of the real thing!

Re: Jean Todt's Ferrari FXX. Using SMS superset

I say buy another one & add the stripe to that!!!! Why not, its only money it does grow on trees, I agree I would love to have the CF offered as a seperate kit to purchase, my skill level is not ready to work with that many photoetched parts & turned Ali parts, i would also like to see this CF pattern offered in full sheet size
Cant wait to see more

It is amazing how beautiful those decals look and the detail they add to the body is simply fantastic. Were they more difficult to apply or easier to apply than regular CF decals

Re: Jean Todt's Ferrari FXX. Using SMS superset

Why? That stripe adds nothing to this car, it's just a stripe that you find nowadays on any wannabee race car, while this car IS a race car with no need for stripes to prove that.
It was looking impressive before that stripe arrived, IMO.

Well, it's your model, but I still am saddened by this choice.

A win/win situation IMO
- it looks good without the stripe and it looks good with the stripe.

You are the one who has to be happy

I agree, it still looks awesome with the stripes....

Any idea if this CF set will fit the standard Enzo??

Drama much over someone else's model?

They are authentic FXX stripes...nothing random at all about them. To me an FXX sans stripes looks a bit too much like a common Enzo.
