Re: Progress: 1/24 Ferrari F430 Challenge
I have to say that your build is amazing but the thing I like best about your post is that you show more step by step than a lot of people do. Threads like this really help me out thanks and again GREAT build!

Re: Progress: 1/24 Ferrari F430 Challenge
Hi to all and thank you again for the comments. Glad to hear that someone of you is enjoying my step-by-step procedure. I honestly think that “sharing” is the secret of our hobby and I’m doing my best to share with you my experiences and techniques, hope this could be helpful.
Then, I’m working very very slowly on the F430. I was disappointed with the previous negative result obtained with the rims, so I decided to focus on them immediately to solve the problem. I realized would has been necessary to have a sort of starting offset. I cut out a disc, made of 0.5 mm/.020” styrene, diameter a little smaller than the rim’s diameter. I put the rims onto the disc and proceed as previously described due the rim’s conicity, note how I got an offset on the starting point (on the right) while the end point where there’s the joint is nearly at the same level of the rim (on the left) with a file, I sanded down the offset, trying to get an even surface I also built a pin (4mm/.156” styrene tube superglued on 2.5 mm/.098” aluminium pipe) to fix the rims which have to be handled on a motortool installed the rim on it and finished with file and then #1000 grit. Those steps need to be carried with the maximum attention, it is really easy to damage the rims (I did it) I did not work on the four rims at a time. I first finished one to check the result. Here a shot of the first one with a coat of primer and the alu locking nut in position and then I just placed it under the body to see how it looks. This will be most probably the final stance Thanks again for your strenuous attention and… bye: Robi |

Re: Progress: 1/24 Ferrari F430 Challenge
Hey ROB! still going strong man! Right now im trying to get my decals printed. If its done perfectly ill send you a copy of the missing decal. Its the F430 challenge plate u find on the dash that is missing... This should help u build up a fully detailed car. Also if u lack the BBS decals on the rims let me know .. i can try to get those done as well.

OMG DUDE! This WIP is awesome! Can't wait to see more. I love those 'action' shots with the file and the Dremel tool-just add some audio clips and it's like I'm right there beside you. Keep up the good work.
