Amazing! Some of the best modeling I've ever seen.

I'm confused. Which is the pic of the real car and the model? Haha I'm totally blown away.

Re: The ultimate project: 1/12 Tamiya McLaren MP 4/6
here's a little update, I have not much time for modelling lately
stock part detailed with ModelCarGarage Nuts, brass and alumiminium tubes and RB Motion bolt heads + Rod Ends. The spring is made of steel wire. you might remember these connectors, I mentioned them some time ago this was one of my first attempts which turned out quite good. And these are the wires, the colored wires are from Detail Master (0.0075 inch or about 0,2mm, trust me they are really small and because of that horrible to work with ). I simply inserted the four different wires into one "big" black one. And on the other side a larger diameter blue wire which fits perfectly in the self made connector. both parts installed, the connector is just a test fit to see how it looks. I think I have to repaint or tone them down with Tamiya smoke. Being a perfectionist sucks sometimes... And a little test fit for the PP velocity stacks. |

Astounding work! People on this forum just keep upping the degree of dificulty and realism to astonishing levels. I wonder what we'll see next? What exactly is that part anyway?

Re: The ultimate project: 1/12 Tamiya McLaren MP 4/6
this is stunning work, and it gives me something to aspire to. i'm working on just my second model ever, so it'll be awhile before i even approach this level, but i'm learning a lot in this thread -- so much, in fact, that i've bookmarked it. i've got a Tameo superdetail kit of the MP4/6, and the builds by you and Bill will come in handy when I tackle it. This diary will be an excellent reference.

Re: The ultimate project: 1/12 Tamiya McLaren MP 4/6
hello there. its a great build there man. about the dust free part(i hope this works). place a small cup of water in the display cabinet or in whatever place you're gonna display it. tap water will do. good luck and maybe put it in a corner to prevent it from spilling!!

Re: The ultimate project: 1/12 Tamiya McLaren MP 4/6
First of all, thanks for all the great and motivating comments. I think I haven't said this before (atleast in this thread) which I am really sorry for!
Since takumijiang brought the thread back to the top I decided to give you a little heads up on what's going on with the model. So in case your're wondering if I gave up on this build or something, NO of course not. I am still working on it but unfortunately I have no camera at the moment so I can't take any pictures. There will be more updates soon (as soon as I have my camera back, which hopefully won't take that long) Last edited by Decs0105; 07-29-2006 at 06:07 PM. |

Re: The ultimate project: 1/12 Tamiya McLaren MP 4/6
I could just imagine the reaction from a McLaren driver or engineer. They would be in disbelief viewing this amazing model. Well, soon as you get your camera back, there's alot of hungry modellers here waiting for more. Fantastic skill here and actually quite a fun thread seeing you make magic.
