i have a need for speed

I think I'm addicted to speed (not meth)...but unfortunately my car isn't exactly a junkie's needle. I drive a 94 civic ex (stock) and the car is just about as slow as they come. I really want to buy a new (new to me but really just used) car that won't break my wallet and is fast as hell. I'm talking ridiculously fast...and if anyone wants to tell me that civic's are fast, well then you can just go ahead and keep driving your civic because my Saturn with 221k on it is faster than my civic with 65k on it (and a vtec engine). So what I'm asking is - what car would you recommend for someone who has about 12k to spend and needs to go fast on a daily basis?

Oh and yes I know that you can spend eleventy twelve gajillion dollars on a civic and make it go fast but I don't have eleventy twelve gajillion dollars so I can't do that - I tried.

Get any big domestic (for you , cause i'm in Europe) V8 , like camaro or corvette , possibly it will already be tuned , but i'd rather look for a one with low milage , or get any car with a turbo engine , then you'll easily double its power or even more with not that much effort...:bandit:
