1/24 Modeler's Peufeot 306 Maxi
Hi everyone. I've decided to start my first wip on this forum because I wanted to show you my current project.
The 306 Maxi. My fav rally car since I first saw it in action back in 97 here on the Catalunya Costa Brava rally and in the spanish tarmac championship. I'll be doing the Peugeot Sport Espaņa works car livery of the 98 season, driven by Manel Muniente. The rally would be the 98 Caja Cantabria in which Muniente finished 2nd. I't's a kit from the disappeared brand Modeler's in 1/24. I'll be modifying it a lot since the kit is very simple. Typical resin kit. No suspension, no chasis detail, etc. But I thought that the overall shape of the car is the best one for start with. So I'm using a Tamiya Peugeot 206 kit as a donor for a lot of parts and also the chasis from Renaissance kit. Preparing the body. Opened up all vents and corrected few shapes. And the chasis. Front part from the Tamiya 206 and rear part from Renaissance 306. Fitting test. That's all for now. Hope you liked it. More to come very soon. Thanks! |

Very nice project !
Modelers 306 is IMHO probably the best model of that car even if there are a few things to improve (vents like you did for example) where did you find the livery ? is a personal one ? never saw the decals for that version. |

Thanks Rallymaster. Yes with a little bit of work the Modeler's kit is the best one for sure. I built in the past one from Renaissance and wasn't really happy with the kit. The decals for this livery are self made. Designed by me, (I'm a graphic designer) and will be printed by a little shop here in Spain called DecalLab. Here is a screenshot of my design:

Re: 1/24 Modeler's Peufeot 306 Maxi
Hi everyone. Here's some updates with the 306 Maxi.
The rear train of the Renaissance kit was wrong so I re-made it from scratch using evergreen plastic. I still have to do the rear gas suspensions and the exhaust line. And detail everything up a bit too. Torsion arm. In place. I modified and fitted the radiator from the 206 kit. Also re-made a little bit the front of the 206 chasis to fit with the 306 body. Dry fit. From the outside. And this is the front drive train. I've widened it 4mm an lowered 2mm. Dry fit. With the carter protector from the 206 slightly modified. And finally everything in place. Thats it for today. More to come very soon. Any comments or questions are very welcome. Cheers! |
