Re: Cayman Interseries | modern racers with historic liveries
Thanks for your replys.
@ robyj i'm using the speedline decals for the 962 Holbert IMSA 1987, they seems to be nearly similar to the cayman livery ( also the Racenumber if i turn the 14 into 41 ) I will get tires with lower diameter at the the rear rims, i hope so . now i hope i can do a good job for the green stripes, because i will paint them by airbrush, we will see it soon, i hope . regards swissly |

Re: Cayman Interseries | modern racers with historic liveries
It probably only would matter if you've seen the Miller car in person, but the gold on it is remarkably different from hobby golds. It's lighter & slightly more yellow-green, and it is difficult to both describe and get a photograph to convey what it really looks like. The cans of beer the gold is almost like a candy color over the polished aluminum can, almost like it's anodized.
But nobody is really going to notice the difference though. The model looks great so far. I can't decide which one I want to build...my favorites of the ones I've seen are the Gulf, New Man, and Advan.

Damn
I thought I might beat you there... Oh well, second is still good enough! But wait for the next steps... Mine looks like that with the clear on (not 100% happy with it): I'm wondering who might come in next? |

Re: Cayman Interseries | modern racers with historic liveries
This is an AWESOME thread!! and Great idea.
I drive the #36 Salzburg Cayman S, and would love for someone to make a model of it (or 2 so I could purchase one!). Id be more than happy to help with detailed pictures etc. The picture on the 1st page of this thread is from the original owner, it has changed a slight bit since then. Thanks Steve |

Re: Cayman Interseries | modern racers with historic liveries
What a fantastic project, this forum thread is starting to spread across the internet.
I'd like to introduce myself, Jim Bacus, I am the driver of #3 "Hippy" car from the Cayman Interseries. I have a lot of pictures and videos of all the Caymans, I can help you guys get different views of the cars if you need them. Here's a view from the Rothmans Cayman during a practice session last weekend at Road Atlanta. Fun to see these cars at speed... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBRPy8n2L3E |

Re: Cayman Interseries | modern racers with historic liveries
Great idea Steve and Collin! I'd purchase or sponsor a model of my #3 "Hippy" car if anyone wants to take the challenge.
