79 corniche needs assistance/fuel

Hey hello out there in the free world. I have a 79 corniche that has not been started for 9 years. it has 3/4 tank of gas i need to remove for starters. I cant seem to get a tube down the the fill line, smart rolls , stupid owner. is there any hope of syphoning the old fuel out or is the only option to drop the tank? I really appriciate your help out there in mechanic land.

Yours truly
