I have a 1997 doge ram 4x4 with the 5.9.The previous owner did some kind of riging on the wire going into the manifold theres a little black plastic like box melted and some wire that are crimped together(pics attatched).If any one could tell me what it is and what they did and how to get it back to original i would really approcate it please.

It could be a filter for removing stray AC voltage. Do the wires go to the alternator?
