does anybody have a turbo kit for a BMW 1985 318i ?

Hi!

I was wondering if anybody owns or knows anybody who has a turbo kit for a BMW 318i 1985 because I heard that performance gains are pretty good. Eventhough the engine of the 318i is only a 4 cylinder and has only 8 valves, I heard you could get up to 180 HP with a turbo.
So if anybody has any info on it can you please answer back.

THANK YOU
PEACE!!!!:smoker2: :grey: :sun: :bandit:

Haven't heard of a turbo but I know Downing Atlanta makes superchargers for E36 4bangers.

Hi,

Anybody have any idea how many horses can be churned out from an M40 engine with a turbo boost at 5.6psi + intercooler without changing injectors and ECU? (1992 318i)

Did some research, and with stock injectors 19 lb/hr, theoretical max horses = 160 ???

19 lb/hr x 10.5 = 199.5 cc/min

199.5 divided by 5 = 40 (approx)

x 4 cylinders = 160 horses.

Would greatly appreciate anyone's comments.

Re: does anybody have a turbo kit for a BMW 1985 318i ?

Well Hi. I have a 1994 E36 318i. It doesn't have turbo. But I'm planning to put one on it. I saw a internet page that shows a modification of a 1984 E30 318i. The page is http://home.att.net/~jroal/jay/bmw.htm. That guy put a Isuzu diesel turbo on it.... So I guess you can get a turbo from whatever car that has one....
